How Dog 'Gon Wild Began
The room was dark with a strange scent in the air, then suddenly a shaft of light seemed to illuminate the room where a small silvery figure stood, with arms out-stretched and a faint but familiar voice seemed to fill the room…
Ok, so it might not have exactly happened like that, but it’s a good way to introduce who we are and how we got started!
Building on a career that has spanned 40 years working with animals, and designing animal interactives to stimulate and enrich, while helping to alleviate boredom, has always been an interest and passion of mine.
Dog ‘Gon Wild is a small innovative company that is focused on fun, functional and interactive products for pets. These innovative designs allow the pet owner to provide their pet with a unique and enriching experience that helps strengthen the social human-animal bond. Designed to meet the animal’s social needs, these animal interactives provide the pet owner with an engaging behavioral enrichment interactive that is unique to the pet world.
Building animal interactives that stimulate and challenge your pet is key to building a healthy, socially adjusted animal, whether you are designing for a chicken, dog or cat, the same values apply.
Our Team
Wendy Iles
PRESIDENT
Wendy Iles worked in the culinary industry for over 30 years in the southeast. From Caterer to Chef/Manager to Consultant, she developed gardens at her homes and workplaces to increase fresh product availability. After moving to Hampton, Virginia and seeing the need for school gardens, she launched a nonprofit in January 2013, focused on community by teaching children and adults to garden to supplement their access to safe food. Wendy also incorporates recycling, conservation and sustainability to each project and shows the garden students fresh, new ways to enjoy the produce, truly going from seed to table.
In 2015, Wendy was hired to create and manage a community garden program, which has now expanded to develop marketing strategies and classes as well as webinars, promotional campaigns, and events.
Roger Iles
VICE PRESIDENT AND INVENTOR
Originally from England, now living in the USA, I developed my interest and passion for animals working as a Zoo keeper with the Zoological Society of London. Since then, I have worked for several zoological institutions here in the U.S. With an animal behavior and construction background, I have designed and built a variety of animal exhibits, habitats and enrichment interactives for chickens to elephants, and everything in between.
So who am I? I am someone that wants to improve the quality of life for all animals, through design and behavioral enrichment, for those individuals that want the best for their animals.
