Take Your Dog to Work

June 25 is National Take Your Dog to Work Day and what better way to celebrate than Morgan taking over Roger’s office! I don’t think that’s quite what Roger had in mind when he decided Morgan could join him in his office, but if there’s a chair, it’s hers. She wasn’t much on the boring stuff on the computer screen, but she always enjoys visiting the shelter and her beloved Roger.

Take Your Dog To Work Day® (TYDTWDay) was created by Pet Sitters International (PSI) to celebrate the great companions dogs make and promote their adoptions. TYDTWDay was first celebrated in 1999, and June 25, 2021, will mark the 23rd annual event.

Morgan came to us from Peninsula Regional Animal Shelter (PRAS) at 11 weeks old as a foster. One look at this girl and I knew we’d be “foster failures”. That’s when you think you’re only going to foster the animal, but they steal your heart and you know they aren’t going back. Having said that, PRAS has a fantastic, very successful foster program for dogs, cats and other potential pets.

foster kitten at prasI had to take a few photos while at PRAS, since socializing the animals is encouraged and what better way to socialize a dog or cat than by letting them hang out with you in your workplace? I know it’s National Take Your Dog to Work Day, but we got to see Shelby and Waldo together. Shelby is also fostering Waldo, so he comes into work every day Shelby does.

A new face at the shelter is Kylie, who enjoyed spending time with Matt.  A bonus for Morgan was getting face to face with this tiny bundle of fur, Athena. Neither seemed to be bothered by each other. Sorry Morgan, not taking it home with us!

Do you get to take your pet to work with you? We’d love to see photos! Visit our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/Doggonwild to share them!
